Cant believe how many people who have no idea mess about with electrics and gas, both are killers.
Get an electrican in and get a quote.
Its called 'armoured' cable for a reason.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
have done it myself but over a shorter distance was about 10 meters. got an armoured cable kit basically youhad a normal wire that went through your wall and connected inside that then went into a junction bob you attached tooutside wall then there was armoured cable comming from that tp bury in the ground0

Garage is about 20 meters from back of house. I think it would probably be too costly to do but if I do buy the house I will get a quote (from an electrician!)
Thanks for replies0 -
You'll get much less criticism if you change "pipe" to "conduit"
And I bet he didn't do his voltage drop calcs to size the cable conductors correctly and the remote location won't be earthed properly either.

After all, one inch plastic pipe will easily withstand someone putting a spade through it..
I never said it was buried in the ground.0 -
and if its mounted above ground to avoid the spade in six months time UV from the sun will have rotted it and it will start to fall apart and when the squirrel chews through the flex poster will be moaning that he's lost a complete freezers worth of food and be demanding compo.

You haven't answered my question though - does the garage back on to the house in question? Because on this question hinges whether the job is feasible.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Then the company who sold it as suitable for use outside will have to pay the compo.
All this over a 6 foot length of plastic conduit which runs along a fence.
It's been there 16 years and still as good as new.0
