First Post! - PPI Help please

Hi all,

I recently contacted Bank Of Ireland regarding 2 x PPI Claims on personal loans

Got my letter back today offering £87.20

They say 1st loan was sold via branch so they cannot prove it wasn't mis-sold and offered £87.20

Second loan was sold via telephone and they said that as their employee works off strictly scripted script I couldn't have been mis-sold (they didn't say they have listened to tapes, etc)

They sent copy of agreement that I have signed next to PPI section (loan dates from 2005)

Problem is, I was told when I took out first loan that me taking PPI would guarantee acceptance of credit so I said yes, so I done same for second.

They sent forms with stickers saying sign & date here so I did.

I'm deffo going to refer to FO but what do you think? Do I have a chance?

Thanks in advance.

You need to get back in touch with them and ask for all info regarding the sale of the ppi and the telephone conservation as you did not want ppi and need a copy of the recording to send to the FOS.
Look here for other reasons for mis sell

If anymore apply to you then use these to go FOS with.

Have they paid you the correct ppi for the first loan?,what was the total ppi,and the loan term and was the loan repaid early or is it still running?.

What evidence do you have to support that?

Without seeing evidence from both sides, we cant say. Plus, judging outcomes on grey cases is difficult. Some you expect to win will lose and vice versa.

  • I called them just now, the 'customer service advisor' admitted she had not actually listened to the call and based her rationale on the fact that no one would deviate from a script and mis-sell PPI over the phone.

I've asked her to listen to call and get back to me.

Is it worth involving FOS at this point or should I wait until they get back to me?

    Thanks

Give her a chance to listen to the call. if you go to the FOS now then they will wait.
