It could be the linkage, but they tend to be consistently poor, rather than intermittent. It doesn't tend to make the box crunch, more just can't find the gears easily.0

I did change the oil on a Ford Mondeo manual box and it made a big difference, much smoother.Google gives you answers use it.........0
