Hi,
I seem to remember an advert on TV not long ago that said there was an offer for £14 a month and it was contracted. It was for gascover and for free boiler. Does anyone remember or know anything about it or did I just get it wrong? Cheers

If so, it must be at least a ten year minimum contract-that would be £1680.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

it is the advert with £17/mth on a 10 yr contract i believe so u pay 204/yr or 2k over the 10yrs so i dont see how they make any money0 -
Seems a pretty good deal to me, it cost a friend of mine over 2K for a new boiler just recently, then of course when the guarantee runs out she will have to pay £13 a month for cover too.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
It's £17pm for 10 years plus a £474 deposit. Total £2,514. They make money by using cheap boilers, subbing the installs out and paying peanuts-which is doubtless why this install was done in one day.
APR is 9.9%!
Read the very small print in the ad...

Why does she have to pay £13 per month for cover? Boiler insurance is simply not necessary, just save £156pa for an annual service. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Is it not worth doing? No point in having a cheap boiler!!Total debt £17,135 total paid off £5250

its basically a 10yr finance agreement, so if you move, you still have to maintain payments.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
I know I should have known better but recently we found a leak coming from the ceiling in a downstairs room. BG came to fix it (after I informed the insurance company). They fixed the leak but talked me into changing to them for regular supplies of gas and electricity. We used to be with Atlantic.
I have never been so vulnerable but have always attended to bills etc., Don't shudder but after this I was talked into having their annual check-ups and anytime call outs. My health is poor and I just want a quiet life these days but seeing the monthly charge on my bank statement (£29.99) I realised I should have put them off and had a look round first. Also, I seem to remember there
was some sort of guarantee in their favour.
Do you think I have any chance of getting out of this agreement - not gas/electricity supplies but the annual cover?0 -
What is the name of the programme you have signed up to? Even the most expensive (Homecare 400) only starts at £18.50pm!
You'll need to check the T&c's to see what the minimum term is. Never ever sign up on the doorstep to anything like this.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
