Memory foam mattress

Hi all,
I recently took up a groupon offer and invested in a memory foam mattress.
I managed to get 3 great nights sleep and thought that the mattress was my best purchase in a long time.
We then replaced our divan bed with a ottoman sleigh bed and this seems to have changed the whole feel of the mattress.
We no longer sink into the mattress as it is a lot more rigid.
I am just curious as to how this mattress should be behaving as this is the first memory foam one we have tried.

The only thing that I can think of is that your old divan base was "sprung" and you new ottoman sleigh bed has a more rigid base in comparison. Therefore making the mattress "feel" firmer.
Side note, don't shoot me, but you have put the mattress back on the bed "correct" side up?Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0
