We are laying laminate over the next few days. We went into Wickes and picked up some of these things when we saw them, they are 12mm and the beading or molding for the skirting apparently goes on top.
I havent unpacked them yet as Im unsure whether this is necessary or what other people use.
On the pack it says its for parquet or plank floors, it doesnt specifically mention laminate
Did you do laminate and if so did you just leave a gap or did you put these sort of strips in place?
We will be using the molded skirting beading after (which I hate by the way) but these seem to go on the floor first.

Hi,
You don't need the expansion strips at all. It is not recommended to use cork expansive strips for the any wooden floors.
Did you buy a laminate floor fitting kit? In the pack, you will normally find some plastic spacers. Use them to create a 10mm gap between the floor and the skirtiing. Once all your flooring has been laid, then you can glue or pin the beading onto the skirting to cover the expansion gap.0 -
We have used these, but only around the stairs as the fitters did a really rubbish job around the bottom of the stairs.
When had laminate previously I actually took of skirting boards, used expansion spacers and placed skirting boards on top. Now have the quadrant beading strips to cover expansion gaps0 -
No, don't use the expansion strips for laminate flooring. Just leave a 10mm expansion gap around the edges, which will then be hidden by the beading...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
