4 non paying bidders WHAT DO I DO?

Help is needed, after pretty much safe buying and selling on Ebay now for about 4 years I have a few probs.......

I have just sold a lot of items as having a clear out, I have 4 non paying bidders (actually 5, but I have let one off as paying fee's) all with previously good (ish) feedback. Total over £120. They are not responding to emails, invoices and it had been 8 days now. One has rather strangely paid for one item which has been delivered but is not responding to a second item he has purchased!! And there was nothing wrong with the first item. One auction winner has over 300 + feedback and is a seller and actively selling but isn't responding!

a. what's the process with Ebay, when can I report a NPB?
b. What happens when I leave bad feedback, aren't they likely to retaliate and leave me neg feedback?
c. If so will Ebay remove the neg feedback as I have done absolutely nothing wrong here?
d. If not then what shall I do, I really want to leave neg's for these NPB's but don't want four neg's in reply all at once as this will destroy my 99% feedback rating?
e. All my emails and invoices have been polite up to now, any advice on scare tactics/final demands.
f. Any further assistance with this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Assuming it's nothing as simple as lost email (there have been problems with AOL recently) then you need to start the NPB process. Getting a NPB strike on their account is more important than the neg feedback. If they get 3 strikes they will lose their account and starting the NPB process usually worries a lot of buyers into paying up.

I usually don;t start the NPB process until at least day 10 so assuming you are already at or past day 10 log into your ebay account and on your selling page on the left hand margin near the bottom you have a box that says 'related links' in that box click on 'report an unpaid item', and just follow the instructions from there.

Your buyers will then get an e mail from ebay saying that you have started this process. If after a further 7 days you have still not received payment then you can close the process using the same bit in your ebay. When you close the process you will also get back your Final Value fees.

Once you've done all that if you choose to leave negative feedback then the buyer can reciprocate. There is nothing you can do to stop them from leaving a neg. I have left negs in the past and so far have never had one back, but some buyers leave them out of spite.

One last thought, do you accept cheques as I've found cheque payers notoriously slow in paying and they never contact you to say they are sending one. usually you hear nothing for days and then half way through week 2 a cheque appears in the post, usually with no idea what it is for!

    Good luck

EBay seems to be blighted by non-paying bidders these days.

They're a pain in the backside, I don't mind reclaming fees but it's the time they cost which is worse.

Go to my post for light relief ...I have 35 older than 10 days.

Pull their contact details and start phoning them.

I did that last night...after 2 bottles of red wine...I was looking for a fight unfortunately all were fairly reasonable. (only rang 4 before my other half intervened and told me to behave11)

One paid by this morning and another resulted in that e-mail on my thread.
