Hi sorry this may be a long one.
I ordered a delivery from currys on 18th Jan, paid for express delivery and got a slot 2 days later. The evening before got a text saying it would be delivered between 8am-8pm, waited all day/evening and nothing turned up, I do not work so no time taken up, but had to get my mum to sit in while I did the school run am/pm.
Phoned knowhow call centre at 8pm,got told they had not stock, but they would be getting 175 units in on the thursday (this was Tuesday), so was booked in for a delivery slot on the thursday, got a text wed night saying it would be delivered between 8am-8pm the following day, also tracked it on the net and showed the same delivery slot... again stayed in all day and got my mum to sit in while i did the school run. Waited till 7.30 and not a sign of the machine, so again called the call centre, and to be told that they tried to deliver my machine the day before:eek: well as far as i am concerned i am not psychic, I was in during the hours of 9-12 and then out and about till 5pm with the kids, I received no phone call 30 mins before delivery (as told this would happen), if so I could of got home and taken delivery. The man was very apologetic and did try to do his best, was then given a new slot for the following tuesday, again got the text the day before and tracked it on the net, saying delivery between 10-2pm, waited in all day, and still no sign, even got my parents to sit in while i did the school run, again at 7.30pm no sign so called the call centre got told that i was not put down for a delivery slot... they could not explain why i had recieved the text or able to track it on the net, was booked in again for today, again got the text last night and was able to track it on the net, delivery was meant to be between 10-2, i have waited in all day with 3 children, (one with special needs and wets the bed!!), kids going stir crazy, phoned the call centre, again only to be told that they have no stock, despite me going direct to the manger of the store yesterday who assured me that there was 56 machines in stock and available.
Now I am waiting for the store manager to call me back (1hr later).
I am wondering what i can claim for, my mum has been doing my washing 2 loads a day she is retired and only does about 2 loads a week... so this has dramatically increased her electricity bill etc etc.
any help would be great.
Well another day of the promised elusive washing machine, and another no show... have emailed them my letter and they have offered me £50.00, phoned again to see why they have not turned up (as promised at 8.30am this morning), they have upped their offer to £60.00 and a promise that I will get the machine tomorrow.......
Getting really cheesed of with know how.

Well, apart from anything else,
refund of express delivery amount charged
refund of phone call money
cost of using launderette (for a week?)
*goes back to read rest of post*
edit - cost of ferrying your washing to your mums and something for her.
this is AWFUL customer service.
At this point I would be WRITING (or emailing) and keeping copies.
Be brief and succinct; tell them how they have failed (3 failed deliveries; being 'fobbed off' with different stories about stock and delivery).
Now what do you want.
eg Do you want the washer you have ordered and paid for? If so give them a time limit to fulfill the order.
and fair compensation - ask for EXACTLY what you want...
eg
In view of the fact that you have, on three separate occasions, failed to deliver my machine I now expect fulfillment of my order, with the ordered washing machine delivered, fitted and working by (appropriate date). I also expect a sum of £x in recompense for your failure to fulfill the contract as agreed, this being £A, a refund of the express delivery fee I was charged by you, £b, to cover the costs of telephone calls to your office and time spent waiting in for failed delivery slots and £c to cover the cost of using the local laundrette as I had no way to wash my laundry at home.
EDIT And SAVE those texts...
also if they cannot deliver the ordered, paid for washing machine tell them you'll accept the next model up - at the same price, of course;)
