Homebuyer Report Needed - Glasgow

Sorry if this this in the wrong place, didn't know if I should post here or the "Local" forums.
I'm hoping to be selling my flat to a private seller, he owns/rents property out in my building and tried to get me to sell a few years ago, and wondered how I go about arranging a Home Buyer report?
Had I been selling on the open market, I could've got everything arranged via the GSPC, but as a private sale I'm bamboozled where to even start.
Do I phone around surveyors to arrange this and, if so, could anyone recommend any in the Glasgow area?
p.s. anyone in the Glasgow area good at negotiating skills and availaible tomorrow to do the talking for me? :rotfl:

just ask at any estate agent. my brother does it and he gets estate agent to push business his way. i thought you did not need them anymore,, i thought they were scrapped. they are a waste of money imo. or just google it
Cheers, I'm frantically googling and confusing myself further.
I know I can't do anything about it until Monday, but my head's spinning with it all already (he only phoned me back last night) and I'm trying to at least look as though I know what I'm talking about.
I'll get on the phone to local Estate Agents on Monday, see what they say.0 -
Estate agents only use local surveyors. I sold via a GSPC estate agents and they arranged for a local surveyor to come out that they had a contract with.
I would have a look in your area for surveyors and give a few of them a call and ask them. i think we paid £850 for ours but that was a few years ago now.Feb 2012 Grocery Challenge £200/£4.00

Thanks Kit.
I thought/hoped I could just phone around local surveyors, but wasn't sure, and thought I'd better ask before I armed myself with a load of numbers to call.
Now I'd better get off this computer, and stop delaying the clean up process - any excuse.0 -
We paid just over 400 through one survey website. They instruct a local surveyor. I think price is on a sliding scale, based on house value.0

If you're genuinely selling to a private individual, with no advertising, marketing or other public display that you're selling, you are under no obligation to provide a Home Report for the property you're selling.
I'll say it again - You do not need a Home Report.
You are only obliged to provide a Home Report if you make it known to the general public that your house is For Sale.
Ignore post #2, he's getting confused with Home Information Packs in E&W, which WERE scrapped.0
