Tesco...Cheap plug plants

Just back from Tesco where they had reduced there plug plants from £2.99 to 30p...packs of 24 bizzie lizzies,petunas,geraniums in 12`s.
They were out of date,cant believe there is a sell by date on bedding plants,anyhow worth keeping an eye out in any local stores.

I bought some past sell by date (!) geraniums from tesco 2 years ago and nursed them into lovely big plants, still have them now, they are trimmed back severely in autumn and shoved in a trough and kept in the conservatory for the winter, out again early summer. A great bargain.

I noticed a while ago that B&Q tend to reduce their bedding plants on a Tuesday morning so this time of year you can get whole trays of pansies and such like for 50p and I've seen them chucking out massive bags of primroses which breaks my heart!
