LloydsTSB current accounts

I recently checked out the interest rate on my current account at LloydsTSB to find that I earn nothing unless I ask for "vantage". If I add vantage to my current accounts, I can earn up to 3% if I keep £3000 in the account. Really annoyed that you have to ask for interest!!! (It costs nothing to add vantage, so I've now signed up for both my current accounts, one classic one premier).

Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

While i agree with you, you don't expect the banks to just give you money do you?

Most current accounts don't give you interest even if you ask, and not everyone with a TSB account has 1K a month going into their account, so can't apply for vantage.

I prefer to keep a float of around £200 in my current account and keep the other £2800 in a savings account. Vantage was OK when the interest went upto 4%. Now its 3%, a savings account is better value.

I had this as well. Back in 2007 I set up an internet saver with some 1-2% interest just to keep my cash out of the current account to prevent impulsive spending or fraud. When the financial crisis hit it went down to 0.1%, and I kept earning a few pennies a month while Lloyds introduced the vantage rates without telling me.

I had plenty of visits to the branch for paying bills and depositing cheques, but it took ages for them to flag down that I was basically giving money away to them for free. Utterly unhelpful
