Ballpark cost of getting bearing replaced?
Mondeo is booked in to an independent garage to get the passenger side rear wheel bearing replaced.
I realise there will be a lot of difference in price given individual garages and locations etc but could anyone give me even a rough ballpark figure as to how much to expect?
TIA

You should have agreed a price before taking it in, it is a simple fixed job that any mechanic should know how long will take and what it will cost.
Lets hope you trust the garage !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
It's a garage we've used before, once for each car and so far their prices have seemed reasonable so I'm not expecting any shocks.
I'm just doing the monthly budget spreadsheet and wasn't sure how much to allocate towards the bill.

What year mondeo is it ?
Don't expect to pay £10 to £30 for the bearing , on most mondeos you have to change the whole hub assembly as the bearing is fixed into the hub , I did one around a year ago on a Mk3 and the prices for the hub ranged from £45 to £150 depending on where you got it from.0 -

that price for the bearing is very cheap - i sell parts for a living and off the top of my head that is about my cost price for a reputable brand. If you intend to sell soon after go for that but otherwise maybe pay a bit more and get one that will last.Cover me in honey and fling me to the hermaphrodites!0

i had a flyer of a local parts supplier yesterday that bearing came at £34.95
fair enough it might be a loss leader but they will pay labour if it fails within warranty time0
