Problem with freezer compartment

Hi

Our freezer is not freezing down to the recommended -18c. Is there anything that I can do as a DIY repair or does it mean a call to an engineer?

I got the fridge freezer in good condition second hand from a mate who was refitting his kitchen, so it's probably around six years old now.

You haven't mentioned the make and model?

Is the freezer a small compartment inside the fridge?

Is the fridge temperature maintained correctly?

Sorry for delay in replying. Frigidaire FRE 2422A. Separate compartments. The fridge temp seems okay.

It may be a faulty freezer thermostat but, they aren't cheap:

Dial now on max and temp -18c. Fridge is in a cold garage, so should be labouring all the time.
