so which is greater you numpty.
A bit over the top, really!
I was merely pointing out the two sides of an oft-repeated argument and I did not express an opinion myself as to which was correct.

FWIW my insurance is with Axa too, and on the 'Essential Information' document they provided with my policy it states:What is law on auto renewals.
Does anyone know, can they just send out an email. Can they get away with this.
Automatic Renewals
To ensure your cover continues, we will seek to automatically renew your insurance. This means that we will hold your payment details securely on our files so that we can collect your next renewal premium. You can change your payment details at any time. Each year we will send you an email and SMS in advance to remind you that this is happening. If you do not wish to renew your policy you should let us know via your AXA Account before your renewal date.Stompa0 -
Hi to anyone having problems with auto renewal and AXA.
I may have stumbled on a trick solution:
1) Log in to your AXA account page if you can.
2) If you have the renewal notice (this worked on my home insurance anyway) go through all the steps showing your renewal cover details, etc, etc, until you hit the screen that lists the things that you agree to. Basically saying that you haven't been convicted, own your house, etc, etc and hit 'disagree'. I think it's the screen before it takes you to payment. I found that it then took me to a page that says something along the lines of 'sorry we can't insure this property, blah, blah blah. Close that window and then log back into your AXA account page and run the renewal again. This time when I got to the payment page I got a nice big juicy "DECLINE" button to press on the left hand side near the print button. Press it with deep joy at having cancelled your renewal!!0 -
Boogar - not really a good idea if you intending to get insurance elsewhere as most insurers will as if you have ever been refused insurance or had a renewal refused - you would have to answer yes.
Possibily when you explained the circumstances they may still cover you as your actual circumstances are insurable - you just told AXA differently.
This will be on your record and you will have to declare this decline forever more!
Would it not be easier just to contact them and ask them to lapse the policy?0
