in Credit cards
I know someone else has started a thread about Aqua changing to Progressive credit but they have been told they are to keep their card. I received the same letter but mine says that the card will no longer be effective from 2.4.12 and due to the way I have handled the card I will not be given another 1! I dont understand as I have maintained the card very well. I had 1 increase in limit to £1250 from £750. In December due to their website going down for a day the payment was a day late so I paid another payment to make sure it didnt look like I missed a payment there is plenty of credit on the card. Can anyone offer some help as to why? Clearly I will need to ring them as well but I dont want to look like I have had my card pulled for bad management on my credit file it feels like 1 step forward 4 back at the moment to re-building my credit. I have a CAP 1 card and Vanquis which I have no problem with

Having them close the account won't look bad on your credit file.
In fact, if you have two cards elsewhere already it is more likely to have a positive effect, especially if you keep your vanquis and capital one balances low compared to their limits, too.
In regards to not being able to make a payment due to their website going down, this unfortunately isn't an excuse. Your statements detail other methods to pay.
In future, pay all of your credit cards using your bank's online account servicing or by telephoning them. When paying credit cards from your current account's online banking you must be very careful to enter this verbatim.
Your statements from your credit card companies will provide the account deatils you need to set up standing orders / account transfers in this way.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Ask them for a reason, via a formal complaint in writing, signed for.
Probably not help much, but at least they will have a formal complaint against them and they may give you more info/change their mind.:beer:0
