Conservatory wall lights

I need to get two light fittings for my new conservatory. There isn't enough elevation for a ceiling fan/light so we are just having wall lights.
Are spotlights the best way to go? What sort of lights should I get?
Conservatory fitter recommended this type of thing but we would only have one light fitting then

what about up lighters? I think the link you showed would look a bit odd on a wall as it's obviously a ceiling light
See here for uplights

I quite like these - they can be painted

How finished is the conservatory? Wiring for wall lights already in situ? Decoration finished?
Lots to consider as regards the electrical infrastructure, as well as what type of lights. Either way, up lighters (like in the post above) are the way to go. This is assuming you only need mood lighting, not task lighting, but you can always use floor/standard type lights for reading/sewing/knitting type activities if required.0 -
They start building the conservatory at the end of next week. Two lights will be wired in to the walls. I can chose the fittings. The man said the spotlight bars are good because you can angle one spotlight to the roof which apparently looks nice. Not to sure myself. This will be the only mains lighting in the conservatory but can get floor lamps as suggested.:A0

Light gets lost quite a bit in conservatories, more than you think. Normal interior walls, if off white will bounce light around a bit but glass is erm.. transparent  so light just passes through and is gone.
Depends what you want to to do in there, to read, direct light shone on the book will be needed, other wise it can be nice to be darker and more atmospheric.
Obviously a ceiling fan/light hangs down a lot but are you sure you don't have the height for a ceiling light? I have something like this in mine with decent LED GU10 bulbs in, as you say directed where needed. I have a glass roof and I like to see the sky out of it. Directing a light upwards would block this with reflections.European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0
