Beef spread?? Bleugh!
Personally I'd take some photos and contact the manufacturer directly. Although your contract is with the supermarket, there may have been a fault with a batch of glass jars or similar, so this would be the quickest way to notify them of a potential product recall.
(or perhaps the capping machine over-tightened the lids weakening the glass and causing it to fracture??)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Was it a new jar?0

Lol at beef spread,my guilty pleasure on crackers.
And neilmcl, yes brand new jar unopened with seal still intact around the top.0 -
chicken paste on crackers for meOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

If you want to deal with it purely as a safety issue then you could contact the manufacturer.
If you are looking for compensation then your contract is with the shop and so you should go to them.0 -
Marmite and Crackers for me.
But I'm mental, I eat Marmite with a knife when I've ran out of crackers.0 -

Doesn't the knife break your teeth?
Sorry, I'll get my coat.
Beef spread? Lovely with salted tomatoes in a sandwich. My mum thinks she's an advocate of home cooking, yet she has the cheek to have sandwich spreads and peck in her cupboard! Cheeky mare she is.There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
I think in this instance I'd take some photos and email shippams. Keep it factual, please dont use 'could have hurt my children' etc (not suggesting you would but you wouldn't believe the amount of posts on here that start with 'My children could have been killed!' and such hysteria). If you can insert a little humour in the email as well it seems to go down well with companies.
Shippams will probably send you a case of beef paste and an apology
(added, every now and then I have a craving for beef paste butties, I put it down to my inner 5 year old hehe)0 -
Maybe someone dropped that jar and swapped it for another?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
