Hi, I have been searching for landloard insurance and there is lots to offer- I am looking for some help on what I actually NEED when choosing a policy.
My property is a flat in a converted house. The builiding cover is paid for by the freehold management company and they are aware the flat is being let.
The flat itself it let unfurnushed with white goods in the kitchen, wooden floors throughout.
What do I put for contents cover? I have worked out if the flat burnt down, i would need to pay about 10000 so do I set cover for that? Do i need legal expenses? Liability cover?
WHat prices do you pay? I have seen ranges from 60 pounds a month to 300 pounds a month.
Any company you would recommend??
This is a 'how long is a piece of string' question but thanks for any help!

Get yourself onto the Landlord Zone website, it can be found from google. They also have a Forum if you want to ask questions.
They have a list of insurers to start with, they will give you a base line (a line in the sand) to start off with getting quotes.
If they cant help you, i doubt anyone can.0 -
If you want cover in case the tenants default on rent, you need rent guarantee insurance.
If you want cover for legal expenses, you need legal expenses insurance
If you want to cover your carpets and white goods, you need landlords contents cover.
If you want cover for 3rd party liability, you need that too.
Do you have pets at home? Do you insure them? Do you have critical illness or redundancy or life cover? All insurance is optional (except car) it's just a question of which risks in life you are willing to take and which you want to insure against.0 -
