YES Loans.... What a load of *@~$

Having recently decided to consolidate all my existing debt so therefore i decided to look for a loan that would be large enough to cover it. Not having the best credit rating I decided to browse the web looking for any deals/offers. Whilst doing this, as per usual I had to enter specific details, ie mobile number and email address, thus giving them the ability to call me with any offer...... along came YES loans.
Im sure im not the only person to enter threads stating what a load of rubbish this waste of space company really is.
Around 2 days later I received a phone call from a delightful young lady who sat typing all my details into the computer that im not sure she is really sitting in front of. This lady went on to ask certain details about my income, expenditure, reason for loan and how long I could have the payments over. We then proceeded to exchange small talk while the computer whirled away making its decision as to whether I would be accepted.................... Hay presto "Congratulations you have been approved and we will send you the paperwork finalising your £20000 loan"
Brilliant I thought!...No. The lady then went on to explain that I would have to send a cheque for £49.50 to them for admin fees????? what could they possibly be sending me that costs £49.50??? she went on to say that as soon as I returned the cheque with the completed paperwork it would take around 4-5 working days to be placed into my account........ Yeah just like that.
I went on to send off the cheque, with the completed paperwork which had their payment/APR proposal, which seemed ok.
Around 2 days later I received a phone call from another lady stating that she had received my cheque and that she was now putting me through to someone from Welcome finance???. I went on to speak to the man from welcome finance, only for him to give me the bad news that the computer had crashed and that he could not process my application at the moment and that he would call me back the next day.
3 days later I had still not heard anything, so I decided to give Welcome finance a call. To my surprise the chap on the other end felt the need to go through the whole application for a second time, only to be told at the end that they could only lend me a maximum of £2500. I enquired with him as to why ide been passed to him? and why he was not aware of my original application? The chap went on to say that he had not received any information from YES loans and that he thought I was a normal customer who had retrieved the number from a phonebook or website. Needless to say i declined the offer of £2500 with a typical APR of 43% and decided to give YES loans a call back just to see what the hell they had been doing really.
Again I spoke to a lady and enquired as to what they had been doing and she stated that after consideration she was sorry to say that they were unable to give me the loan???? as im sure you are aware that this was a bit of a surprise having received verbal/written conformation and a payment scheme for the loan.... I then went on to enquire about the £49.50 cheque I had sent. The lady went on to say that this money was to cover the cost of forwarding my application to other loan company's...electronically.
Needless to say I demandeed the cheque back and told her, in no uncertain terms what I thought of the company she worked for and hung up.
As i said before im sure im not the first person to complain about this company and unless they stop functioning im sure i wont be the last.

so how are you going to get the check back? has it been cashed? can you cancel it?
If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.
  • They added that if they could not help they would refund all but £5 of the cheque. In my opinion that goes to show that they never actually spend more than £5 on admin fees in the first place.

I to got ripped off from this comapny.
They cashed my cheque, told me I had been accepted sent paperwork etc. Only to pass me on to no less that 7 other companies who all recorded searches on my files and declined me.
I gave up trying to get my money back as they told me they had justified the charge by sending my details to other brokers.
Even now I get letters from them telling me they can help me and to apply today. I just write no thanks across the form and send it back in their prepaid envelope so at least I know it's costing them something even if it is pennies.
This company should be closed down.
  • I called to nip this problem in the bud because they had refered me twice to companies who could not help in the slightest. I asked them to stop looking for me and therefore send me my money back. They replied by saying that when signed and sent the paperwork back to them I signed into a six month contract and therefore I could not claim the refund until August the 8th.... why hold on to it?????
I do like your advice about replying using their pre-paid envelopes, I think if we all did it we could cost them a pretty penny

Watchdog ran a story on this type of thing a while back when the got a undercover reporter a job in one of these offices.

Basically they just pass your details on to a loan companys ( who you could of contacted yourself) and promise the earth all so they can get this fee out of you.

the reporter had a couple on benfits applying for a 5 figure loan . the manager said that there was ZERO chance of applicants getting it ,but told the reporter to go through the motions anyway, collect the fee and let the loan company they forward it to break the bad news.

i,m sorry but YES loans ????? do you not remember YES card credit ????

Conmen and shisters hiding behind glossy TV commericals and websites plain and simple

do you also call "The Mint" on ITV and think you have a chance of winning ??( is that a Rawl plug in your handbag???)

sorry to be rude but you need a sharp wake up call . Don't be a fool in future!!! you should of posted here before ever taking your cheque book out.

remember in ignorance you are prey for companys like this !!!!!!!!!!!
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

While there are desperate people out there, there will be dodgy companies out there as well, ready to fleece them.

It's thanks to these desperate people that the TV is full of ads from companies trying to get people to take out loans. Makes me glad I owe next to nothing.
