Newbie with a question

Hi all.
Have been reading and been fascinated by this site for some time now so thought I would sign up and join in

My question is do I have grounds to re-claim PPI I always felt was mis-sold to me on a loan from Halifax that I had from 2004-2010 even though a minimal claim was made in 2006 when the company I worked for went bust, They paid out for a period of 15 days while I was unemployed then found my current job.

I had previously asked to have the ppi taken off but was told that the 30 day cooling off period was the only opportunity to cancel so had to see it through. So when I was briefly out of work figured I may as well make use of the extorsionate payments that I had made and claim while unemployed. It doesn't alter the fact for me that I feel I was robbed. Do you think claiming though has hindered my chances of saying I was mis-sold the insurance?

Hi all once again.

  • I would ask why you think it was missold.

However, if you could only cancel within the first 30 days that suggests it was a single premium added to the loan.

If so, then it is likely that a complaint would be upheld.
  • Thanks for the reply. I honestly didnt realise that I had agreed to having the ppi until it was to late it would seem. I feel stupid for not going through it all with a fine tooth comb at the time but equally feel duped into a product I didn't want.

    Sean.
