Need help to find strange plug

I fully expect people to have no idea what I'm talking about.
The plug on my sons bubble tube has broken.
It's a very odd plug, kind of the opposite of one of those universal adapter plugs for a laptop as the metal jack plugs into the plug rather than into the bubble tube.
How on earth do I go about finding a replacement?
Maplin couldn't help me.
Am I on a wild goose chase?

A picture would help quite a lot! (And what's a "bubble tube" when it's at home?!)0

In such a specialised market, I would have thought getting in touch with the manufacturer/distributor woiuld be the best bet.
Try these guys, if they can't help they maybe able to advise who can,

Ah, a sort of updated Lava Lamp!0

As above a picture would be helpful.0

thanks for the replies. I'll come back with a photo. I tried googling the manufacturer a while ago but didn't get anywhere. I think the bubble tube is unbranded and the plug made seperately. Anyway, photo asap.....:A0

Have a look around at sets of Christmas lights - if I'm thinking of the same thing, you have a big plug with a built in transformer, and the wire from the light is then plugged into the plug/adaptor and sometimes secured with a screw down nut (possibly in plastic).
Chances are the existing one has some markings on it - power ratings etc - that would be helpful to post if you can't post a picture.Adventure before Dementia!0 -

For 99p this might be worth a punt - it doesn't appear to have any wire coming out of it, but you could always email the seller.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Another idea which may resolve the issue of the strange plug.
Get a regular adapter with right voltage/amperage and cut the plug off the bubble tube (I'm assuming its a 2 wire cable). Then you or a friend with a soldering iron could attach to a dc inline socket eg

If you get both from Maplins you would sure of the fit.
Obviously this wouldn't work if it was a 3-wire system.0 -

This sounds the easiest option to me also. You can also get little plastic connectors from Maplin/B&Q which will eliminate the need to soldering. You just slot the wires into the box, clamp and close the lid. Bingo.0 -
