HSBC Succes - quick interest question

Just had my redress offer fom HSBC :)

It says to contact HMRC about the interest which is taxable - Does anyone know if they will give me a figure of what I owe over the phone and can I pay it off there and then?

Thanks

You pay 20% of the interest as tax and then reclaim at end of year if there is an overpayment of tax based on your income and personal allowance.
