A capped price is capped per Kwh used, not the monthly payment
So if usage has gone up then the payments would have to go up as well.
That aside, an increase of almost 100% would indicate either a incorrect payment calculation - seems to be happening alot lately - or and underpayment which has result in a build up of debt which needs to be repaid. i.e. she used £85pm but has only been paying £60 so there is a deficit of £25pm which has been added to the ongoing consumption of £85pm.
In both cases, your mother would be entitled to an explanation of what caused this increase, and if found to be unneccasry can be contested.0 -
Hi tipsy200,
I can look in to this for your mother, is she has access to the internet she can e-mail me. My e-mail address is onlinecomplaints@scottishpower.com
If she does not have access to the internet you can e-mail me and I will give you a number she can call from a explanation.
Kind regards
