Kilimanjaro travel insurance advice

Hi,
I was hoping someone might be able to offer me some MSE advice on travel insurance for climbing Kilimanjaro?
I'm climbing next month to raise money for a charity I work for. However, what I didn't realise was quite how expensive everything was going to be!
On top of the jabs and malaria tablets, I also now need toget travel insurance that covers extreme altitudes.
I'm travelling with Exodus who do a single trip cover for £85 (!!!!) and wondered if anyone could advise me on any other options?
Maybe even a normal insurance who will charge an 'add on' to cover the specific period I'm away?
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks,
Kaz

When my brother climbed he had a specialist insurance. This made sure it covered him for the right things. It maybe be expensive but better to be sure you are properly covered. it could be more expensive if something happens and you are not properly covered.0

I needed travel insurance least year that covered high altitude trekking, and couldn't find anything cheaper than you have quoted. High altitute is just one of those things you can't cover cheaply.
For us, it was better value for money to get a joint annual policy, as it was almost the same price as the single trip policy, and covered all holidays that year. We paid £200 through Campbell Irvine.
Good luck, and have a great time!0
