Not received item paid for

Options
I paid £25 for a very small bottle of car polish from a uk firm (Microlon)over a month ago after at least 10 emails the owner eventually replied saying he was a `1 man band` and had just come out of hospital after a small back op and would send out the item the next day, that was 2 weeks ago and another 6 unanswered emails.
What should I do next ?

Its a pity its not over £100 then a Section 75 refund applies. I am afraid its the small claims court for you. But at least it can be don't on-line - don't forget to send him a 'Notice before action' though.
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring
  • If you paid with a VISA debit card you may be covered under their own protection scheme, a call to the bank would clarify.

Visa and Mastercard both have their own policy with regards to chargeback. Mastercard (if i remember rightly) have a lower limit of £10 and no upper limit, Visa has no limit.

So contact your card issuer (if you paid by card) and ask.

It is important to note though that under DSRs, a retailer does have 30 days in which to perform the contract - unless both parties have agreed otherwise. If 30 days has passed, this puts you on more solid ground as you have statutory rights.

    How exactly did you pay?
