Monument Credit Card... £250 limit, now owe them £550!?

Hi, I have looked at my balance and it is at £550. The original limit was £250, so I assume the other £300 is all late payment fees (£12), over limit fees (£12) and merchandise interest(?).

I dont have any statements before the balance was £482 so I cannot see what the charges are for exactly, but I know only ever received £250.

Is this reasonable or am I being ripped off here. The card was taken out in 2007 and was frozen in 2008 and there have been no charges since. Am I eligable to claim some of that back or will I just have to accept paying over 100% interest rate.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As well as the possibility of transactions that took you over limit.
