Hi I wonder if anyone has a BT Decor phone, I purchased one several months ago now but find that it is showing "Low Battery" every few weeks. At first I thought that it was a faulty battery so tried new ones which lasted about 3 weeks so I replaced them with a better make of battery but now they are showing "Low Battery" just 3 weeks later, is this the norm for this phone?

The battery only powers the display, so should last 2 years. Does it clear when the same battery is reinserted? This would point to a bad or intermittent contact in the battery compartment. If it is a silver oxide cell, it is important to get the exact voltage specified.0

Just tried the take battery's out and put them back trick but still shows low battery, trying for a final time replacing with Duracell ultra power and well see how long they last.0

What model of BT Decor is it - 210, 310, 425, 500, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1500 or 2100?
Are they button cells or AA or AAA batteries you're replacing?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Which model number of Decor phone is it?
What type of batteries (not what brand) does it take - AAA?
There is the possibility it may be faulty, is it under guarantee?
Sorry, Heinz beat me to it!0 -
It's BT Decor 1300 with 4xAA battery's it's out of Guarantee as we exchanged it for another model under guarantee.0

4 AA batteries giving low battery in about 3 weeks
sounds to me like it may be faulty although I've had a couple of different phones with LCD's before, that have eaten 3xAAA batteries fairly quickly but not that quick! It may depend on how much the phone gets used.
Here's some interesting threads

Frankly, I don't hold out much hope
If I've understood your last post correctly, you had another phone which presumably went faulty under guarantee and you've changed it for this one, but the original guarantee period has now expired.
If that's the case, then IF this phone is faulty, you are still entitled to your money back under the Sale of Goods act - Not fit for purpose.
However I did say IF it's faulty, you really need someone with direct experience of the Decor 1300 who knows how long the batteries should last with what usage, to be sure!0 -
Thanks it appears that it is a common fault I will see how long the duracell's last.0
