Triton Credit Services NOT sticking to their agreement with me, dont know what to do.

Hi,
New to all this, so I dont know what to do.
I had to start a new agreement with Triton Credit Services as my old one came to an end. All I owe them now is 2 payments and Im finished with them.
On the telephone I asked the woman for the payments to be taken out on the 1st of feb and the 1st of march. She agreed to this and we confirmed on the phone that the 1 st of each month my payments will be taken out.
3 days later
I recived letters from them saying that my payments will be taken out on the 8th of feb and 6 of march. 2 dates that were just plucked out of the air.
So when i Phoned them up to see why this happend they told me that it would have been to late to set up a direct debt for the first of the month, and there was nothing they can do.
I spoke to a manager there and he told me he would listen to the call and they will honour the agreement that I made over the phone with them.
So when i called back, it turns out that nothing can be done about it.
what do i do
Its been in the papers recently that the banks word is a bond, im not too sure if it is.
Many Thanks, Lee

I'm not sure I really see what the problem is, the payments will still go out, just a few days later. It'll still be finished on March 6th.0

Have you asked them if you can make a manual payment, ie, via a debit card? It may however now be too late to cancel the DD payment.0

thanks for repyling.
Q/1
I know its not a problem but i dont think the bank should have changed the dates without me agreeing to it first, its the fact they are going to get away with it. They cannot make up an agreement if i dont agree to it.
Q/2
becasue they have all ready set up the direct debt with my permission they can not undo the dates that they have set.0 -
........we confirmed on the phone that the 1 st of each month my payments will be taken out.........I recived letters from them saying that my payments will be taken out on the 8th of feb and 6 of march........that it would have been to late to set up a direct debt for the first of the month......
Under the DD guarantee scheme they have to give you 14 days notice and in writing (I believe) before the DD gets taken. Presumably there wasn't enough time to comply with the regulation.
I can't see what difference a few days later (later, not earlier!) will make. Have the money in your account by February 1st, a week later it might have earned a penny in interest.0 -
I can see it's annoying that they haven't done what they said they would but they have given you an explanation. Having said that, the notice period would only apply to the February DD, I can see no reason why they couldn't take the March one on the 1st.0

Only one direct debit is allowed within a month on the same mandate.0 -

10 days advance notification of the amount being taken is necessary. So time has to be allowed to produce and post written notification.0 -

Is that right? Does that mean that there is a rule that doesn't allow DDs at a frequency greater than one a month? I will admit that I've never had one but I can't see what the logic behind not allowing it would be, for instance to take payments fortnightly or weekly.0 -
Thanks for your replys guys/gals,
I know that its only a week later but im so annoyed that they can basically do what they want.
Thanks0
