I purchased a second hand Skoda fabia w-reg with only17,000 miles on the clock from a local dealership in November 2006. At this time I was only learning to drive so the use of it was very limited. Two weeks later the battery went so I had to pay out £50 for a replacement. Following that two weeks later I was driving home form university and the oil light came on. After calling the garage they asked us to take it in and it was there for two weeks. The head gasket had gone and we were told that we would have to pay £87 to flush out the coolant. After long discussions they agreed that this would be paid by them with the year’s warranty that came with the car. I received the car back on the Monday and on the Tuesday I went to start it and it would not go into gear. Yet another phone call to the garage and the AA had to come and tow it away. The following day we received a phone call saying that the clutch would need replacing and I would have to pay £132.50. Since then I have noticed a knocking noise from a belt in the engine.
Does anyone know what my rights are? I am struggling to know where I stand with this matter and would be grateful for tips
Many thanks
