Who do I make my claim to

My husband has PPI with Paymentshield for a mortgage we had with Abbey National in 2002, we have since moved lender but are still paying for PPI. I would be grateful if for your advise as to whether I should make a claim against Paymentshield or Abbey National.

Thanks

I would be grateful if for your advise as to whether I should make a claim against Paymentshield or Abbey National.

Neither. Paymentshield do not retail their products direct to consumer. So, they have no liability. Abbey National never offered paymentshield products. So, they have no liability. Paymentshield products are used by mortgage advisers and IFAs. They have the liability for the advice they give.

The fact it is paymentshield eliminates the most common MPPI failure reason. Paymentshield didnt do single premium. Monthly only. So, it would have been set up correctly.

Paymentshield is also not lender specific. So, even though you changed lender, it makes no difference to the cover offered.

What is your reason for complaint?
