We got ours for free, plus the wine! We got to try the white wine with the starter and the red with the main - and I mean a full measure each!!! Plus our little ones had ice cream and they didn't even take money for that. WE couldn't believe it.
I do think it should be included - you are generally spending a lot there - but I do know a lot of places don't offer a tasting, which I think is lame.

We got ours for free (wasn't mentioned in the brochure or contract) along with full glasses of each of the wines on offer to see which suited...that was on a Barcelo package.0

I emailed the wedding co-ordinator and she has asked what my OH will eat,i have given her some ideas and she said she will speak to the chef wednesday and try and come up with something that OH can be served on the day.i have told her that he will want to try it before hand,i hope she didnt think we was going to say yes thats fine serve it up.of course he will want to try it first,OH will not be happy if he is served something he dont like the taste of,will ruin his whole meal.i await to hear back from her once she has spoken to the chef0

In most cases, the groom doesn't end up eating that much of his meal as he's normally getting nervous about the speeches.

You could always have the speaches before the meal though. That is what we are doing, then those who are doing speaches can relax and enjpy the meal. Also we didn't want our photographer to stay for that long and this way he can take photos of the speaches and then leave when the meal starts. Our photographer said it is becoming very common to have the speaches before the meal so people can relax. Just another option.0

Oh of course, sorry, I meant to add that you could consider getting something he likes (eg chicke) but widen your options by also considering veg sids, as he may not eat all of the meal.0
