menu tasting

Hi all im not due to see our wedding co-ordinator now until 4-6weeks before the big day to pay the rest of the money off and go through the menu decisions etc with her.she hasnt mentioned anything about menu tasting but we said it would most likely be the chicken we go for execpt OH doesnt like veg so his will be something like chicken on a bed of pasta or something like that which she said again would be sorted when we see her.i emailed her before xmas about there normal menu as we was thinking of going for a meal she said to us we could have our wedding breakfast menu if we wanted and it will be at a 50% discount?? is it normal for not every venue to do menu tasting or is she saying thats it but we have to pay but get a 50% discount?? sorry confuzzled

    It will depend what you have agreed in your contract at the time of booking. What does it say?

    In which case it sounds like the provision of a menu tasting isn't something that is included so a 50% discount seems fair.

    I also think it should be in your contract... ours is and we are supposed to be going on the 19th Feb!!

    Mine wasn't in the contract. The brochure thing just mentioned that we could have the menu tasting and gave a price of £23 instead of £38.

    We had to pay for ours. It was discounted but not dramatically (about 30%) it was really fun though! x

    We are having our at the beginning of march. We get 2 of each course free and if we want more we just have to pay the extra, i.e. at the normal price. We will probably try more than 2 of each course as I am veggie and OH isn't so want to be sure we have the best of both options.
