Got a British Gas engineer coming out on 10th February to check the meter, but i`m sure they`ll worm their way out of it somehow!A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Is your system 3 phase?, again if it is,it probably indicates there has been heavy consumption demand at some time in the past. Most small country inns serviced with both Gas and Electricity are perfectly happy on a domestic style single phase 80A / 100A head.
When people mention 'pub' it conjures up images of the little country inn with 3 regulars in a building the size of a cottage. However i've visited plenty of 'pubs', which have function rooms with 5KW sound systems, rows of 1000W Par Cans and 20 moving head lighting effects all fitted with 575W HMI lamps. Such venues, along with normal bar, cellar and domestic (upstairs managers flat) use, could easily pull this type of demand if Karaoke / Disco / Bands are part of the nightly entertainment schedule. I drive past one pub whose entire frontage is lit with rows of SON floodlights and there must be at least 10 pole mounted 250W floodlights lighting its rather large car park and beer garden
First of all OP, please Define 'pub'.- are we talking tiny converted 17th century cottage with roses around the door, or a building with a footprint of a travelodge?
I'm not saying the OP is running this type of equipment now, but the venue could have been used for bands or student nights in the past, and had a large demand footprint, although it still wouldn't explain the current level of usage, this meter set up does seem to be geared up more for industrial 3 phase usage, rather than the 'small pub' whuch people seem to be assuming in their replies.
What about other catering items?. A commercial double fryer will be rated around 3kw. What about heated serveries / trolleys?. Any heated display cabinets with pies etc behind the bar?. Gaming machines? (a quiz / fruit machine will draw 300w - 400w when in 'play')
Dishwashers?, Glasswashers?, Tea Urns?, Instant hot water heaters?, Car Park / beer garden floodlights?, outside trees covered in chains of 50x 25w coloured lamps?. Visiting Discos / Karaoke / Bands?, Mediatheme entertainment system?, Plasma TV's ?
These are just some 'everyday' pub appliances that may be overlooked!, and its amazing how they add up whilst in combined use over extended weekend opening hours"Dont expect anybody else to support you, maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse, but you never know when each one, might run out" - Mary Schmich0 -

The OP has stated what appliances he has:No economy 7, No electric heating Roger, just sockets, lights (all with low energy bulbs) and cellar cooling. No cooking on electric either except a double fryer which is on 13 amp sockets.
Yet for the 4 months to 31 Dec he averaged 245kWh per day(yesterday 238kWh), and as you say the appliances above couldn't use a fraction of that consumption.0 -
What you dont say:
How many chiller units (pythons)?
How many chiller cabinets (single, double, quad)?
How many ice makers?
How many hours are the pub open?
Juke boxes/slot machines/TVs?
Does the pub include staff accomodation on the same meter?IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Ok sorry to be a bit Vague I`ll try to be more specific.
We have a small bar with a tv,jukebox and Bandit in and 10 light bulbs all of which are low energy. This is open wednesday till sunday 12-11.We then have a restaurant which is about 60ft by 20 ft.No heating or appliances restaurant side but we use 16 bulbs again all low energy. Behind the bar we have 1 glasswasher,1ice machine,1 stereo,1 coffee machine and 3 double bottle chillers which most of the time we have the lights off.
Moving back we have 2 coolers and a fan in the cellar,5 fridges in the kitchen including a walk in fridge.A dishwasher,a set of hotlights ,a double fryer and 2 microwaves. The hotlights and microwaves are only used when needed then turned off.Upstairs is run on the same circuit but again only lights and sockets and its quite small.
Outside we have 4 spotlights on the pub plus 4 car park lights which are on about 6 hours at night on low energy bulbs.
Sorry if it sounds complicated.
We dont have bands or Karaoke but we do run a carvery unit one day a week for 6 hours.
I am surrounded by farms and i`m convinced one of them is somehow tapped into our supply!!
Thanks for all the advice so far its fully appreciated.A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.
