Would still wait though if the officer on the phone said you can not go through but an officer will be down to the scene within the hour??

Would depend on whether they had taken down any of my details on the phone...

Long time ago when I started driving I was told to treat it as if the junction was a roundabout so everyone should be giving way from the right. But that was with the idea you proceed cautiously of course.

That one seems to fall flat on it's face as not many people were told that,:o,
I think Tucker got it right, foot down and eyes closed:eek:;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I would as well, although I'd probably be too scared to if they were lights with cameras on to catch red light jumpers!

If they really are stuck on red, then you will have plenty of time to write a quick note saying that and stick it over your rear number plate, then just proceed with caution :)

No, that would be criminal damage.

Bin bag over the red light camera would be another option, in the interests of improving traffic flow for everybody else in the queue.

If it's a two way street, you can always turn your car around. The usual "trick" question also puts you in a one way street, so this is illegal. The red light still has the force of law, even if it is faulty and hasn't changed for 3 minutes. The solution is to park the car legally, ie. close to and parallel with the kerb. Then you have to find a uniformed police officer (Yes. I know.), who can perform "point duty" and signal you legally through the red light.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Treat them as a giveway. How can the prosecute if the lights are not in full working order?

I think this law may be a little out of date and in need of revision.

I'm not saying you're incorrect, in fact I'm almost certain you're correct, but it really needs updating to reflect the likelihood of finding a uniformed copper these days.

I think you are right as it also says give him sixpence for his trouble....

Only a traffic warden or Police officer can wave you though on red legally.

In the couple of times it has happened to me I've gone through anyway after waiting for a bit. Both times the lights were red in all directions.
