'Failing to display a permit' is not reason enough for a ticket to be issued.

Presumably this is a tort of trespass, and the permit is nothing more than an indicator of whether you have trespassed or not. The truth is that you DO have a permit. So you are not trespassing. Therefore they cannot pursue you for damages. Even if they did:

    1. They can only pursue you for nominal damages (usually £1)
    2. Only the landowner can pursue you, a parking company they have employed cannot.

As LY says above, they'd look stupid trying to deduct a charge from your salary for trespassing, when you are actually a permit holder and are therefore authorised to park there. They'd be in breach of their employment contract too most likely.

Our company have just employed TPS to manage there staff car parking by providing us all with parking permits and I was unfortunate enough to forget to swap my permit into a different car and came to find a £60 fine stuck to my windscreen.

Does the same advice follow as with public car parking ie ignore it all?

    Thanks

    Jon

Yep, it's unenforceable bollox and your company are deluded. Which suited idiot thought that was a good idea then, pretending they can fine employees? :p
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No worries, Debt Recovery Plus are well known. You'll get a couple of letters from them, and then they will 'sell' your 'debt' (there is no debt, obviously) to another company called 'Zenith' who are actually the same company (with the same company registration number) and then they give up.

What you won't get is a court claim.

    They don't do court.

And with the same signature on the letter!
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • Thank you, so I just hold my nerve and they will eventually give up?

It does seem odd to deal with something like this by ignoring it. Eventually, they will run out of empty threats and stop throwing good money after bad.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
  • Thank you much appreciated

It is also essential for you to pay £250 to a Dr.Caravan Marvis of the Bill Gate Compensation Commission so he can release your winnings from the Bill Gate Raffle, a sum totalling $2,811,061.00 USD. :o
