I do that too, I cook mine on my panini grill, its such a good way to use up leftovers - mine usually contain: cheese, spring onion, grated carrot, pepper and sweetcorn. I have used brie, spinach and red onion jam yum Im veggie but the combinations are endless I have then with mayo and/or sweet chili sauce.

Hello there
Thanks for starting us off Pixiechick
NTBY, OH does martial arts on Thursday nights - I used to go to yoga then but now I go on a Monday instead so I have the house to myself on Thursdays.
DNMS - hope you feel better soon. Sometimes when some built up stresses go away (leaving your old job etc) we find that our body relaxes and all sorts of stuff we've been locking away makes an appearance. Take care and give yourself what you need this weekend - lots of chill out time is Dr Escy's orders.
Oooh, JB - the boy situ sounds promising! Hope it all works out for you guys
I walked into work for day 2 - giving me a chance to get some more music into my life and a bit more 'me time' - much better than sitting-on-the-bus time methinks!
I was feeling a bit
yesterday for a while but feeling a bit more positive today - I got some feedback about the job I was going to go for on that other team - doesn't sound like I'd have a hope of getting it if I were to apply. Don't you just love office politics? Back to Plan A and looking for external jobs after my next pay rise (better to start job hunting with the increased salary already under my belt I reckon).
Here's my small things:
Brekkie at home
Two cups; one tea bag
Walked to work
Emailed friends about coming to mine for a free yoga class - practice for my teaching assessment!
Joined Linkedin - best way to find jobs these days apparently…
Tidy round tonight - blatantly still going to have loads to do over the weekend!
Mini-shop for essentials - £20 max
Need to think about w/e meal plan and next week's lunches mainly - write up - got a fab chalk board as a housewarming pressie with days of the week - oh the small things do make me smile!
Downloaded a couple of free kindle books
Walk down to cheap shop on lunch to get some cupboard groceries - tins/jars - must remember I'm walking home!

As for quesadillas, I just buy a packet of tortilla wraps and chuck in cooked chicken, peppers, onions, salsa and cheese - in a frying pan and instead of plonking another tortilla on the top, I fold one half over so it looks like a calzone pizza thing. With tacos I do buy a pack, I might look into buying the seasoning separately then I could just buy the taco shells not the kit. But the Tesc0 own kit wasn't too costly, about £2.20...and we have a few shells and meal left over which we have for lunch the next day:D
With pasta bake I only ever use single cream - or I used to use condensed mushroom soup - that was a yummy one but I think my girls would trun their noses up so I don't have it now;)
I think my meals are all boring...same old things, so I'm looking out for new ideas:)
Excellent ideas! The sauces sound cheaper than the ready made one, but it takes away the "convenience" factor a little, doesn't sound like it would take a lot longer though
Will have to add quesadillas to the meal plan as it sounds simple enough!determined_new_ms wrote: »Perni - I tried to think of what I cook yesterday but my brain wouldn't have it!
I never buy sauces and make my own, often a tin of toms, some dried herbs, whatever veg is lurking & then a sprinkle of grated cheese bung it in the oven mmmm
I've been using this website recently
http://resourcefulcook.com/
do you have a slow cooker? Often I just bung a load of things in it in the morning - this week I did a pork casserole - 2 chops cut up and browned off, 2 onions, a couple of apples cut up into chunks, a little cider and a stock cube and a little water. The boys loved it and it cost pence
Unfortunately we don't have a slow cooker (one to add to a gift list if I bother to do one for the wedding?
) so that's out for now, but that website has some fab recipes! I simply have to try http://resourcefulcook.com/recipes/view/gbayr-moroccan-chicken-tagine mmm! Pixie maybe this is one you can try too to spice things up a bit?
I can make a simple tomato sauce & a cheese sauce from scratch, maybe this is the way forward & I should just try adding a few extra things into it to make a filling pasta bake.Lost_and_nervous wrote: »Pernicious - Tomato passata is great to make sauces, you can get it for between 25p and 29p and I add herbs and garlic to it. One small carton generally does 4 adult meals, 2 childrens meals. It tastes great even just on plain pasta with some cheese.
You know what I always go for tins of chopped tomatoes which are more expensive than that, I shall give passata a go, thank you!:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57

Well today I went to a meeting of community groups which was followed by a free buffet = free lunch.
Went round all the charity shops on the way home and bought a lovely musical box which I can either use to display my vintage jewellery in at craft fairs or sell.
When I got home my necklaces I bought by wholesale had arrived.
Did all the surveys.
Did all the competitions.
Had the heating on low.0
