Have I a PPI case?

Good Morning new to this so bear with me. When i was 18 (20 years ago) i got a loan from llyods bank , i have continually been topping up my loans and am now still paying back what i owe (6000 left to pay) i have had ppi on all of the loans. My question is do i have a case to get all of this back , i have obviously signed ppi paperwork to agree to the insurance but physically asked whoever gave it to me if i needed it as i was serving in the army until i was 29 so there was really no need to have it as it was unlikely i would lose my job and if i was sick would be paid anyway. I rang Llyods last week and gave them 6 different loan account numbers that i wanted checking for ppi mis sold. I must have paid thousands of pounds over the last 20 years on ppi and it has always left a sour taste in my mouth as i cant help feeling i would be debt free now, i have even phoned them before and asked if it could be stopped but they said it would be unadvisable. what do you think guys , do i have a chance to get some of it back.

thanks , if anyone can advise me it would be great , Aaron
