I have just received an email purporting to be from twitter stating that I should change my password as my account has been compromised. Does it look genuine and what action should i take?

Well whether its legit or not, change your password from the site itself
if you havnt already, set to ALWAYS use HTTPS
then change your password here:

Ignore and sign into twitter your usual way not via the link, you may want to do a spy ware scan/virus scan before you do though for peace of mind.ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0
