cheapest ski holiday..

I am a beginner skier and trying to figure out what would be the cheapest option.

- Uk is not an option as there hasn't been much snow in scotland
- There are some cheap ski holidays (min 7 days) in europe for around £300 ish, but my problem is I am on my own. My friends dont like the idea of skiing :(

Have you folks got any suggestions for me? I am not worried about accomodation, even a hostel should be fine :) and I have estimated total cost at around £450 . Is it too less for what i want?

  • £450 is probably not enough. You can get HB in Andorra for around £300, but as a beginner you will need to hire equipment, buy a ski lift pass, and pay for lessons. I suppose it could be done, but you should look at packages which bundle all this together. Such deals will probably be to less popular resorts, but that may be okay. They may be less popular because the range of skiing is not good, but as a beginner you may not need much.

As a starter, take a look at this web site https://www.wtss.co.uk. Also contact an agent like igluski and tell them what you want, and your budget. See what they come up with.

I presume that you realise that you need to buy skiwear as well? You could probably buy your whole kit for around £100 online.

Hi 8701... I dont mind snow-boarding either. let me know if you find any good deal. I am still looking and think will need to atleast skip the term holidays in feb as it would be too busy.

    Hi
Off to Levi in Finland next week to try x-country and generally play about in the snow. I am an avid downhiller but just fancied a change. Got a good deal from Inghams for a SC cabin for around £650 for 2 of us. Mind you its b****y cold in Finland!!!

If you want ambience and a general good feeling try Austria in one of the 'beginner' resorts. Quite a few deals for places such as Niederau available.

Bear in mind February is a peak time and so prices and queues can be high. Last minute deals in March should look good but you'll need to be aware of going high for snow, though most places are good this year.

BTW Europe half term is February through to March 10, aftrer that prices tend to drop until the Easter rush.

    Hope this helps.
