Pre-Paid cards for Car Hire

Can anyone help?

I am getting desperate, as I'm finding it impossible to try and book car hire abroad now with my debit card.

I wanted to book a holiday to Mallorca, but am willing to look elsewhere in Europe.

Has anyone actually been able to use one of these pre-paid cards to pay for car hire abroad, as I would be really grateful for the name of any firm that actually accepts them.

I know diddly squat about credit cards other than you need to be earning over a certain income to get one (which I am not) having retired now, but have enough cash to load up a pre-paid card to cover whatever needs to be covered.

Please if anyone has got any good news, I would be really grateful to hear some.
