HP 8500 Copies Have Streaks

Hi All

I have the 8500a and found it to be a decent printer.

However when i photocopy the sheet comes out with hundreds of vertical black streaks running down the page.

Have tried googling but everything is refering to a streak (from dirt etc) or streaks where it is discoloured or similar.

Have cleaned & aligned printheads, anything else i can or should do please?

Hi,

Installed a few of these printers at carehomes. Not bad....

Is it less than 1yr old? Ring HP and tell them theres a fault and they need to sort it asap as your trying to run a business, you get the gist?

usually the streaking occurs on the toner side, but sometime on the fixer (hot) end.

feed one sheet of paper through and about 1-ish second after you see the last bit go the paper go into the machine, open the lid of the printer.

Now the stuck page, in an ideal world will have the bottom end of paper will be just about to enter the toner and the top end of paper will be leaving the fixer. just look on the page where the problem starts.

A good few times I have seen this, the problem was due to a recycled toner.

Is this just on copies you make using the sheet feeder?
There could be dirt between the sensor and the page which cause streaks on the copy since the sensor stays still as the page moves past it.
