Cheap holidays help

I'd really like to be able to help my brother find a cheap cheap holiday. He missed out on the Sun tokens ones.
He is a single parent to 4 children under 8 and is a great dad to them.
He really needs something that can be gotten too by public transport as he doesnt drive.
Any ideas where to start looking??
Thank you

We just booked a cheap and cheerful holiday with Pontins (I had never heard of them before!!) But until the end of Feb loads of the deals are 50% of. We booked a chalet for 7 (we have 5 kids aged 8 and under) and the price included 10 activity passes (usually £5 each) For 4 days at Brean Sands at Easter we have paid £140. (He could get a smaller chalet for lees, the budget was £75, classic 1 was £100 and classic 2 £114)
We do not usually go for this kind of thing at all but really feel the kids will love all the entertainment. I do not know about public transport, but they have several sites around the country and maybe it is an option that you can look into.
Good Luck, sounds like he deserves a break!:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0 -
The sun holidays will be back again in july

also <whispers> does he want to take the kids out of school ? as it will be much cheaper during term time whatever he goes for

The difficulty with the sun holidays, is there is no guarantee which one you will get, and if transport is a problem, he needs to know where he is going and how feasible it is.
Our children's school is very supportive of out of holiday breaks, as they feel it benefits the children. Particularly kids who have had a difficult time, not implying yours nieces/nephews have, but if he is a single father then I am sure they will be sympathetic. Our younger children have the somewhat daunting pleasure of an eldest brother with Asperger's and the school are very encouraging for us to do things as a family.:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0 -
try ringing the sites that were listed in the sun direct, you will find that out of season, the amount the Sun are doing as an 'offer', is the normal price you would pay. however, due to the sun offer alot more people have booked, so availability will be limited. not many of the campsites are easy to get to on public transport though, as they tend to be sited away from towns, so taxis would prob be the only option from a station, and unless you were prepared to pay for lots of taxis, you would be stuck on site all the time0

have a browse through here http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2006410005-2006580727_1,00.html at all the different parks
Not all are out of the way eg 2 of the sites I know in Wales, are close to the beach / town
and even if it was out of town most have enough to keep the kids occupied on site
so this may not be a problem for your brother ?
how would he travel ? coach or train ?0
