I wonder if anybody can help me. I have been using Yahoo mail through Outlook for years. Suddenly my email has stopped coming through from Yahoo and just get an error message on Outlook. I have also checked with one of my freinds and they are having exactly the same problem.
Anybody any advice ????

Post the exact error message.
Are you using Yahoo Mail Plus which allows POP3 access to your Yahoo account? See http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-06.html0 -
The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90
No I am not using Yahoo mail plus but have been receiving yahoo mail through outlook for ages and had no problems.0 -
That sounds like it may be an AVG issue. I think some other users had to re-install AVG to resolve this issue. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I've got the same problem and I've just reinstalled AVG but I still can't access Yahoo Mail through Outlook Express (or Hotmail incidentally). Is there something specific I have to do within the AVG options in order to get round the bug? I don't really understand the jargon on the link above.0
