PPI advice required please

We have a joint loan with First Direct loan from quite a number of years ago (within the last 15) however for the last 10 years we have been paying it off through a debt management plan with Payplan. Originally it did have PPI but Payplan eventually got that part of the payment stopped and it was cancelled, we now just pay money directly off the loan with a small amout of interest still added to it. Does anyone know if it would be worth me pursuing a claim? or might it have a detrimental affect on the DMP arrangement???
Many thanks

Hi all,
Just wanted to ask, my dad took out payment protect with Aviva for his Abby Mortgage back in 1997, and cancelled it may 2011. During this time he did make use of it once due to a work injury. I wanted to know has he any right to claim anything on the PPI aspect of time?
Thanks for your time0
