i hope im doing this in the right place but have a question, i orderd 4 items from sports direct 3 were fine but the 4th item wasnt i orderd a pair of little girls pink flowery shoes for my daughter and they sent me a pair of boys black shoes! i obviously dont want them but should i have to pay for the recorded delivery of these shoes when its not my fault they sent me an item the oppisite of what i orderd, i took the shoes to my local store this morning as it says online can be given store credit for items purchased online but they refused saying its not as straight forward as a normal refund as its a wrong item and i must send them back he also said he cant gaurantee they will refund me the cost of postage, i just dont think its fair i have to pay for delivery on an item i never orderd, if i orderd them and they were the wrong size or i didnt like them id expect to pay as its my decision but not when they are at fault? they havnt replied to my 2 emails and theres no phone number the guy instore wasnt helpfull and was quite rude to me so does anyone have any advice for me? thankyou x

You may cancel your order any time within seven (7) working days, beginning on the day after you received the goods. We will refund the price of the goods in full and will reimburse you for the delivery costs you paid except where multiple items have been ordered and not all of them are being returned. However you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us. If a refund is payable to you we will process the refund as soon as possible, and, in any case within thirty (30) days of the day you give written notice of cancellation.
you *could* return all 4 items and just re-order? it's a pain in the arse, but it's a way around it and you'll get your return shipment refunded.helpful tips

You are entitled to return the wrong goods at their expense for a refund of that item. Quality customer service would see a replacement of the correct item sent at no extra cost to yourself, if you didn't get this it's not a place I'd shop at again.

You missed the important part in the section you quotedHowever you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.
OP would have to pay for the return of 4 items just to be refunded postage. However, if Sports Direct (can't say I've ever ordered from them) charge per item, OP can expect - and is entitled to - a refund of delivery charges. If it is one delivery charge regardless of the size of your order, then no.
But for return postage costs, the retailer is always responsible when items are faulty/incorrect.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I agree. No point in returning the other items if they're fine.
As said, SD are liable for the returns postage cost for the incorrect item, AND for the postage costs to ship out the correct item (though they may elect to refund the cost of that item instead). If they refund then they are not liable for the initial postage costs UNLESS the initial postage costs were per-item. (i.e. if it was priced at, say, £7.95 postage for the consignment then you get nothing back. But if postage was priced (and charged), say, at £1.99 per item, then you'd be entitled to £1.99 refund of postage).
I hope that makes sense.0 -
