hi i need help to understand how my bill is made up! i got a bill from eon on the 15th oct 2011 it can in at £254.84 i then got another bill 12th jan 2012 £755.42. can you please help to find out if this is correct as they are no help to me over the phone.
13th oct reading : 76519

i only have electric in my property no gas but this seems to be rather high for a new bill when i have not used anything different in my household.
i pay 20.944p each for the first normal units off 178kwh, normal next units are 11.837p per 5,951khw.
your advice will be very grateful thank you

Are you on Economy 7? If so what is the night rate you pay and which reading is the day and which reading is the night?
Also are these meter readings accurate or estimates?0 -
Hi browneye girl,
You’ve got an Economy 7 meter there browneyegirl but aren’t on Economy 7 prices, what sort of heating have you got?
You’ve used a total of 6129kWh in the 72 days from 13/10/11 to 11/01/12 and this gets split between the two sets of prices. The primary rates are charged for the first 900kWH a year broken down to 2.46kWh a day. Everything you use over that goes on the secondary rate.
So that’s 178kWh x 20.944p = £37.28 and 5951kWh x 11.837p = £ 704.42
Total charges are £741.70 the rest will be VAT after any discounts have been taken off.
Are these readings accurate or estimates? have you had a word with us and gone through the bill.

That could be why winter bill's so high!
Storage heaters are normally best on E7 prices as they use most electricity overnight.
If you call in with meter readings, our advisors can check your night-use and make sure you're on the best plan for your needs.
If it's Economy 7, they can also check why you weren't on this from the beginning. If we've made a mistake it's easily put right“Official Company Representative
