We are desperate and wondered whether anybody had managed to get their boiler repaired after installation via Warm Front.
We had our boiler installed in March 2011. Ever since we have had problems. It turns itself on for a maximum of four hours a day. Then turns itself off and will not go back on again. The thermostat doesn't work so the temperature will never go beyond 13c.
We have had an independent heating engineer out who has given a list of a catalogue of problems with the system. Caused by bad installation.
Warm front have insisted all we need is a power flush, which we are not covered by. Their installer who came out to 'check' the system didn't seem to know what he was doing. Said we must have 'turned' off the system. We didn't it does it itself.
I have spoken to Gillian Ross the DECC liason, have written to my local MP, although they are nice and 'sound' supportive - they have not sent me an engineer out and I am still without heating.
Currently going through the official complaints process with Eaga Heat and Warm Front. Again all they say is that they will send out another engineer, but then they never do. Not sure I want 'another' one of their cowboys anyway.
Wish we had never applied for the scheme. Our old boiler may have been inefficient but it worked.
