Freebie websites?

Can anyone recommend a decent but free website builder/hoster?

My mum is just starting up a new business, and therefore I'd like to get her online to help advert

Any advise gratefully received.

Thanks

I'd recommend paying for hosting, I use Tsohost and its no more than a few £ a month.
As for building a site, I cant really recommend any sites to help you build, but CMS (content management systems) like Wordpress are very good but will take a little learning.
  • We have a Wordpress website but it does take a while to learn - there are plenty of books showing you how. My OH went on a free Business Link course to learn it, so if your mum is starting up a new business it may be worth contacting them. A lot of their beginners-type course are still free.

Although you could build the website yourself using someone like Wordpress, as leemoss says its best to at least pay for a domain name and hosting and it really can only be a few ££s a year. You will see ads for free hosting everywhere but their services are usually quite limited and will require you to agree to banner ads etc.

We use 1-2-3-reg.co.uk. Their domain names start from £2.99 a year and hosting from £2.49 per month. So far we've not had any problems so I can't comment on their support.

    Good luck!

You should never use a free host for a business website.

Check out https://www.hostsphere.co.uk where hosting starts at £1.99 per month for a basic package. It comes with a one click install of Wordpress which is really simple to use. .co.uk domain name is £7.49 for 2 years (which is the minimum you take a .co.uk domain).

Like everybody above said, id not recommend free web hosting as it is so poor and most have ad's and you cant really do alot.

However, google is a mans best friend and if your so so desperate for free hosting, google it or check out

Totally agree... unless it's just a mess about website, for any semi serious site you really must pay for something but that doesn't mean paying very much. I use TSOhosts and it's very reasonable costs with good support.
