Editing video & removing/covering up logo

I have been given a product video by a supplier who has given me full permission to edit it, remove their logo and use our own branding in place of this. They have helpfully cut the video into chapters so it is easier for me to pick the bits I need.
It is in .MOV format and the logo is static and on a white background section of the video (so shouldn't cause an issue if it has to be 'cut' out).
I have managed to cut the frames I don't need using Windows Live Movie Maker, but I can't find a way of covering up their logo using this. I know I can add a text watermark, but seemingly not a logo. I think older versions of WMM could do this with some fiddling around but not sure if I can download them anywhere..?
Is there any free software someone can recommend? I spent all yesterday afternoon trying various things but got nowhere - eg I downloaded VirtualDub and the Delogo plugin, but it wouldn't open the WMV file, so I then downloaded something to convert it to .AVI which should have been compatible, but got an error message about missing/wrong codecs when trying to load it into VirtualDub.
If there isn't anything free, I don't mind paying a little bit for software as long as it will work and it's easy to use!
Many, many thanks

what you ideally need is a "pixelation" filter. If the logo is fixed to one spot the video you should be able to add a blur or pixelation layer and only have the logo covered.
Start converting the MOV to MPG or AVI so VirtualDub can handle it. Then it should be easy to !!! a blur over the logo.Laters

Hopefully he solved it 2 years ago.Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:0
