Everest windows

We have decided we want to have Everest fit our windows since we think they are the best and close relatives have had a good experience.
what I would like to know is what sort of discount I should be able to push them to. I have a quote to fit all windows and doors to my 4 bedroom house plus the roof liners on the house and double garage. They have already offered the famous 40% but I want to know how much further is reasonable.
I also figure if I get all this done at once it must be worth some sort of bulk discount.
Thanks for your help in antisipation.

Why don't you get some quotes from other installers and use the prices to barter Everest down. Unlikely that you'll get Everest to match the others but might beat the 40%0

i would definatley get a coupleof other quotes, but what sort of windows and doors are you havingnow proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0

Everest, like many other DG companies, can easily offer 50% discounts and still be more expensive than a normal comany. It's easy to discount something if you've already more than doubled the price.
Personally I would avoid any DG company that offers a huge discount, offers a discount if you become a 'show home', discount if you sign on the spot, back windows free if you buy the front etc, etc, etc. They're just part of the con that is double glazing sales.
And yes I don't like double glazing salesmen.
Get some local quotes

Thanks for your help so far.
Anyone like to share what discounts they have achieved with Everest?
If I can't get Everest to shift down to my stisfaction then I will certainly seek other comanies... just who... This is a one off investment and I dont want some cowboy of fly by night company fitting them just to save money. I dont plan to move home for many years yet.0 -
We had secondary glazing in four windows about 23 years ago. That was all we could afford then. At that time they came with a lifetime warrenty and every year we get a call to check if they are still OK. They have never tried to sell us more for the rest of the windows.
Last month I noticed that one of the runners was worn so I had to push a bit harded to open it. On Monday they rang to see if we were happy. I mentioned the runner. Today they replaced it!
Also, they are still as white as the day they were fitted.
I think it was well worth the extra.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......

It depends on what you mean by a discount. Many of the larger DG companies give you an over-inflated price to start with. So any discount is only to get you down to a more reasonable price. But other DG companies may well do the same job, for less.
Everest may well start with a quote for £12,000 which is "discounted" to £6,000 - only for you to find that a local DG company would have done the job for £4,000.
As others have said ... get more quotes as this will indicate the discount you are looking for.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Hi,
I have had nohing but trouble from Everest. Not for windows, but for a front door.
My windows were all done by another company, but I wanted a hardwood front door. When I saw one at Everest we liked we knew it would be expensive. It started out at over £4k and we got it for just over £2k.
The door and all the fittings have had to be replaced. and the service from their local depot was shocking, although the fitters were good.
Windows and UPVC doors seem to be their core product and like you I have heard people give good reports. They will try to sell you other products, like garage doors, burglar alarms etc. and, my advice to you would be to be very careful before buying these. At the first sign of poor service, or a quality problem I would advise you to get on to their HO (a letter to their MD will do the trick) because these are big jobs to have done and are permanent for a number of years.
Hope this helps rather than hinders.0 -

I had Everest Aluminium double glazed units fitted about 12 years ago. I have to say that they are superb windows - BUT - there is a design fault with the handles/locks. We now know not to use the handle to push the window open, but to push the frame instead.
Also the after sales service is absolutely appalling, we had a window with a panel of broken glass (son !!!!!!!!). It took over a year to get it replaced. You would not believe the excuses that they trotted out: "we've lost the measurements", "we don't make that style of window any more"; when they came out with:- "our Ts & Cs say...." I really lost my rag with them !!!
As I said good windows - but ...................0
